Velvet Touch Showband brings together a wealth of Talented Professional Artistes who are no strangers to the big stage.
This is a Hi – Tech Band with a big sound,enhanced by a total of 3 keyboards, featuring the new Yamaha DMX electric drumkit with sequenced sound and lighting.
The people behind Velvet Touch Showband are;
Graeme Culham
A highly experienced Drummer / Percussionist who is a recognised “Name” within the Jazz Industry. He is also a qualified teacher of Drums and has accompanied / recorded with some big names in the industry including top latin jazz artiste Snowboy.
Graeme also has a very outgoing personality which makes him very much the “funny” man in Velvet Touch.
Very versatile and a vital part of the Band, Graeme may act the clown but takes his music and presentation very seriously.
Sarah Locke
Sarah is one half of the attractive side of Velvet Touch, but she is not just a pretty face,this Lady is a trained Vocalist, singing songs from the West End Shows to current chart material,
She previously was the frontline vocalist for
Sarah alongside Anthony make up the established Boy / Girl duo Ajare Blue.
Sarah is a very talented vocalist and also has an ear for all those harmony lines in a song.
Anthony James
The engine room behind the Band is the best way to describe this vastly experienced musician.
Anthony has been performing live on Stage from the age of 15.
Classically trained on Piano / keyboards, there are not many requests that this musician cannot perform – from the classics right through to current chart material.
Like all the members in Velvet Touch, he lives and breathes music and is never happier than when he see’s the dancefloor full, of people enjoying the performance - enhanced naturally by all the members of Velvet Touch Showband.
Brian De Palma
The only word to describe this man is “Versatile”, he plays the Drums / Guitar / Bass Guitar and sings. The man just ouzes talent. Brian has just completed a film score which will be his biggest project to date, but he still has the passion to perform live, and adds great inspiration and ideas to the Velvet Touch Sound.
Brian only joins the band when performing as a 6 piece.
Sarah O’Shea
This lady is the other half of the attractive frontline that makes Velvet Touch a cut above the rest. Sarah is an extremely talented Vocalist with an ear for finding all those harmonies, and when sung against Sarah Locke’s Vocals, makes every song a production.
Sarah also has a fantastic lead voice and when Velvet Touch performs as a smaller unit, she wears her other hat as a solo female vocalist in her own right.
Ollie Benson
This fine guitarist has been with Velvet Touch some 25 years, and is a perfectionist in all styles of music from Jazz, Old Time, to Country, right through to the present day charts.
If required, we can back singers who want to get up and “have a go”, this is where Ollie comes in, he can busk virtually anything / anyone that you throw at him, We are very proud to have one of the best guitarists in the south of the UK, Once you have witnessed this highly accomplished musician, we are sure you will agree. Ollie joins the band when performing as a 5 piece.

Velvet Touch can be what you want it to be, weather you require a Duo or a larger Band up to a seven piece, dependant on the size of your Venue, We can accommodate any format or set up you require.
This Band is not - musicians that just get together for a Saturday night out !!, this is a professional, rehearsed Unit that can perform all styles of music from ballroom
(if Required) – through to current chart music.
All Instruments in the band are performed live (not mimed), against sequenced programmes.

Equipment
Velvet Touch Showband carry a 6k Sound rig, and on the larger events utilise the services of a top professional sound Company “Stagecor” which is the same Company The Stage Newspaper use for their Annual Showcall Showcase.
Lighting is made up of 32 x par 56 Lighting Cans, enhanced by 3 x Martin Intelligent lighting effects which will illuminate any size Venue – Smoke effects optional
